Windy,

Have you not been able to get IE to work at all? Only Firefox?

Wow. I just read all these problems the others are having. I'm on AOL, but included this site in my advanced options. Still can't get in to the Forum, but everything else. I've tried the rest and none of this works.

You mean to tell me that I am the only aol user that can't get in?

No I can not log in with IE. As soon as I allow IE to set a cookie in the flash menu system, nothing works, all is dead. No menus work. One can not get anywhere unless one lets cookies be set, and allowing cookies to be set makes the whole web site inoperable. If I click on a link, the page does not load, it hangs trying to load - forever.

This is at home and at work. This is on Win2000 professional, win2000 advanced server, XP Pro, and win2003 advanced server. All systems are current as of this week on Microsoft patches. All systems are running Microsoft's strict security settings. All systems can log into MSDN using passport. All systems can navigate Aerosmith's and Kid Rock's flash based web sites and the menus keep working even after cookies are set

On this site I need to use Firefox or nothing works

Sherry Kelley -
Some people on AOL were always having problm. But there are a number of people using AOL that are just now starting to have problems that didn't have them a little while ago. I think maybe AOL sent a security update to its browsers. Try connecting to AOL then opening IE and navigating to Toby's web site http://tobykeith.musiccitynetworks.com
log in and see if you can then get to the forum
If not, try downloading FireFox - http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
it handles dynamic cookies and tight security while actually connecting

just a thought - are all scripts signed?
flash scripts?
java scripts?
java beans checksumed and signed?
php scripts?
etc
Tight security settings require signed scripts.

I made a major change to the way the sessions work. I have a test AOL account that is now able to get to the forum within the AOL browser. This should fix alot of the "caching" problems with ISP's like AOL/Earthlink/etc...

cool - good job. thank you.
IE works with tight security setting on win2000 professional (I am on it now)
My xp machine got though the log in - got into the forum - now its IE is toasted and can't go to any page of the forum - However my XP machine at home is very weird.
I'll try one at work and the win2003 advanced server at work
I'm going to try the win2000 advanced server now.
Win2000 advanced server tight security settings logged in and functional

WinXP tight security settings logged in and functional

win2003 advanced server with tight security settings logged in and functional

One thing to remember. Not all AOL accounts were having problems. Try a test peoplepc account with an accelerator as an acid test.

whatever change was made to the forum seems to have toased avatars
my avatar is on my web site
(IMG:http://www.kokosuniverse.com/preview/avatars/flopsie72x90.jpg)
one can not even upload an image and have it display

login is weird again - it keeps deciding I'm not who it thinks I am -
I log in and then it thinks I'm not logged in correct when I go to post something, but if I click on MusicCityNetworks and the forum refreshes, I can go back into that forum and post -
this repeats often

that option does not show up

when one doesn't and one goes back to fix their spelling - one can't
not real good

okay - someone seems to have fixed the forum -
might be a good idea to put the forum software on a different server
(copy it all over to the other server - change setup for other server - or install it fresh)
create a few test accounts
three member accounts
one member can only access one artist's forum
one can only access a different artist's forum
and the last can access both artists' forums
create one moderator account
and one admin account
update this test forum first
verify with all five accounts
then update your real forum

Invision updates can be fun - if you're into this sort of stuff

fix was not long term - forums are toast again -
same problems as reported above

no buttons show up to [reply] or [edit] or anything in the protected layered permission forums
in this forum only [reply] shows up

at this moment Firefox has avatars and icons and all buttons
IE has no avatars no icons and only a reply button in the general forum
the avatars, icons and buttons in FireFox come and go - I can refresh and they'll be there - a few moments later on a refresh they'll be gone

You're all too trusting of Invision updates ....
==================
10 minutes later
--------------------
(this is the update that became missing - data base roll back?)
IE is showing the general wrapper for the Toby only section of the forum while at the exact time on a different computer FireFox is showing the "Toby" wrapper for Toby only view of forum. That is really sketchie
-----------------------------
20 minutes later
--------------------
Okay - an update I did to this post 20 minutes ago vanished - but IE is now working with icons, avatars and buttons

long day huh?

Remember Alice’s Restaurant? That would be my feelings also had I applied such a patch

I still can't join Jamie O'Neal's fan club. One goes though the whole procedure for "upgrading" ones iPass and when one clicks the last arrow to confirm one is back on the main page with a "upgrade ipass?"

I am now back on the forum.  I have called my ISP and after a few attempts we finally figured out that it is the acceleration program they use.  The accerleration program is what does the caching which is what I had to get around.  So I disable the acceleration while I am on the forum and I am in. Windy I want to thank you greatly for all of your help over the last few days I hope that there is something special waiting for you when this is all over.  If there is any thing I can help anyone else with don't be afraid to ask. I will try my best to help you out.

I am in Toby's fanclub as well as Tracy Lawrence's and can not get into the forum or pre-sale link on either one. Please refer to my earlier posts.I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing works.Kortney will not answer any emails and she is in charge of both clubs. So can someone please help me? I have tried 6 different computers and none of them work.Grrr- very frustrating!!
I am able to get into Chris Cagle's and Jamie O'Neils forums on my iPass, though. So,what is different about those two that Tracy and Toby don't have.Anyone know?
Windy was here at one point trying to help me and we tried so much but it still does not work.
Anyone,please??
Thank you so much!!

You'd best email your support person
If I remember correctly (sometimes I don't) I believe you can change all but your name in the ipass
to change the name you'll need a system admin
try emailing support@<whatever_artist>.com
example support@tobykeith.com

Having tried to log in from so many different computers, one can get the feeling that it is not as ISP problem, and not a firewall problem.
Since you can get to other forums on this board, it does not appear to be a log into ipass problem.
It seems to be an ipass permission problem. There is nothing us fans can do to streighten out an ipass permission problem.
try once more
delete all cookies
go to
http://tobykeith.musiccitynetworks.com
login to your ipass
select forums
write down the error message you get
or write down the artist forums you do see
email Kay tkfanclub@aol.com and Kortney support@tobykeith.com.
Explain
what your full name is
what fan clubs you belong to
what forums you see when you come to the forum after logging in to your ipass
ask them to please get this fixed as it has been broken since May (unless it had started working then stopped again since your other posts)

For some reason,I can get into the chat.I also just got an email from Tracy's fanclub pertaining to pre-sale tickets and I could FINALLY get into that. Not Toby's though. And still no message boards for either artist.
I have emailed EVERYONE!! Including Music City Networks.First person to get me thru this wins!!!! Not sure what but they deserve a reward!!

Toby's chat needs Real Java installed. Us nerds call it Sun Java or Java Beans
The Java console shows no errors
Windows XP 5.1
ParaChat Applet 5.7
Release v57-rel-5700
Trying TCP connection to chat.musiccitynetworks.com:7777 ...
>> The remote machine has accepted the network request... Please wait.
Your connection to ParaChat will be kept alive until you log out.
Your connection to ParaChat will be kept alive until you log out.

so you can wonder over to Sun's web site and download the plugin
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
most likely you'll want Windows (Online Installation)
If you were running a Solaris or a Linux box (box = computer) you'd most likely have Java installed already >*grin*<
